How our courses work

Our language courses are based on the Common European Framework of Languages (CEFR). We have several levels available, from level I (beginner A1) to level X (advanced C1).

I want to learn Portuguese. What's next?

The first step is to assess your preexisting knowledge of the language.

1. If you are an absolute beginner, Level I is the course for you. You can enrol in the course immediately with no need for formal assessment.
2. If you have already studied your language of choice, a level test is in order. Level tests get increasingly difficult as you move through the questions, starting with the most basic of questions and continuing on to challenge even the most experienced of non-native speakers. So don't get discouraged!

A CLCC coordinator will subsequently contact you and tell you your level and which course is best for you.

With us you can learn Portuguese in a variety of ways, from a regular group course format to an individual format fully tailored to your needs.

Learning a new language is a process.

At CLCC we divide it into levels, each level corresponding to a course with specific objectives.

In each of the courses the four main language skills are worked on and practised:

• Speacking;
• Writing;
• Reading;
• Listening.

When you want to start your language studies, you do not need to begin at the beginning of the course. If you already have some knowledge of the language, you will be placed in a more advanced course.

All sessions will be taught by a native-speaking trainer live online using virtual classroom software.

The sessions will be accompanied by digital teaching material specifically adapted for this course, and will be made available to students before each session.

The virtual classes will be based mainly on the Flipped Classroom method in which the participants can access the theoretical material before the session making the virtual class essentially applied practice and sharing.
