We’re pleased to invite you to join us for a visit to the A Rocha Association on Thursday, 23 October at 10:00 AM.

This activity is a great opportunity to learn more about local nature, observe birds and butterflies, and enjoy a pleasant morning outdoors.

Here’s the plan for the visit:

Programme:

  • 10:00 – Bird ringing demonstration
  • 11:00 – Cake and coffee
  • 11:15 – Nocturnal butterfly identification demonstration 

The activity will last approximately 2 hours and is free of charge.

 Transport: If you don’t have transport, we can meet at CLCC at 9:15 AM and share a ride. Just let me know your situation.

How our courses work

Our language courses are based on the Common European Framework of Languages (CEFR). We have several levels available, from level I (beginner A1) to level X (advanced C1).


I want to learn Portuguese. What's next?


The first step is to assess your preexisting knowledge of the language.

  1. If you are an absolute beginner, Level I is the course for you. You can enrol in the course immediately with no need for formal assessment.
  2. If you have already studied your language of choice, a level test is in order. Level tests get increasingly difficult as you move through the questions, starting with the most basic of questions and continuing on to challenge even the most experienced of non-native speakers. So don't get discouraged!

A CLCC coordinator will subsequently contact you and tell you your level and which course is best for you.

With us you can learn Portuguese in a variety of ways, from a regular group course format to an individual format fully tailored to your needs.

Language Levels

Learning a new language is a process.

At CLCC we divide it into levels, each level corresponding to a course with specific objectives.

In each of the courses the four main language skills are worked on and practised:

  • Speacking;
  • Writing;
  • Reading;
  • Listening.

When you want to start your language studies, you do not need to begin at the beginning of the course. If you already have some knowledge of the language, you will be placed in a more advanced course.
