Yoga differs from other forms of exercise in that it involves motions that don't cause strain on the body. When performed correctly, the asanas have no negative effects on the body or mind.


Yoga's stretching and breathing exercises improve your flexibility, helping joints, tendons, and muscles stay limber.

Hatha Yoga is known as a stress reducing practice. The word Hatha comes from combining the two Sanskrit terms "ha" meaning sun and "tha" meaning moon, hence hatha yoga is meant to join together sun (masculine, active) energy with the moon (feminine, receptive) energy, thus producing balance and greater power in an individual.


The ideal way to practise Hatha Yoga is to start the session calmly and mindfully. This kind of yoga can be practised by anyone regardless of age, sex or physical condition, as long as there are no medical contraindications.
